Fierce Women
Fierce Women.
Fierce Women explores the visceral, instinctive nature of maternal protection. The work draws from an encounter I witnessed in nature — an eagle descending upon a serpent that slithered toward its nest. With precise and violent grace, the mother eagle tore the snake’s eyes from its head, an act of both savagery and sanctity.
In that fleeting moment, I saw the embodiment of a universal truth: a mother’s love is not passive, it is power — instinctual, unyielding, and divine in its ferocity.
This painting translates that primal energy into visual form, merging motion and stillness, tenderness and violence. It is a meditation on protection, sacrifice, and the sacred rage that arises when love is threatened.
