Love is Patient, Bro Isn’t.
Define love, she asks.
“The same way the Bible describes it.”
“Love is patient, love is kind. Love is… that?”
“There you go. Okay, now quote the verse for extra points.”
“No. I don’t need them.”
Sarcastic remarks are my thing, so I was smiling inside.
When we got in the car, she said, “1 Corinthians 13:4–8,” then recited the whole verse.
I smiled and called her funny. She opened up and shared that it was her way of practicing saying no to anything that felt like a command—doing something she didn’t necessarily want to do.
I dropped her off, she closed the gate behind her, and I left.
On my drive back home, I was thinking she had some nice titties. Oh, and she’s smart.
BRO, ARE YOU SERIOUS RIGHT NOW?
4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
