Naïve
“Why didn’t you listen to what I said? I don’t get it. This is exactly what I’ve been trying to avoid. You’re putting me in situations that make me uncomfortable — two of them have even been dangerous, almost life-threatening. You’re becoming a problem I can’t handle. Protecting you feels like juggling four live bombs at once.
Ama, why? It’s like you’re pushing me to break up with you. You’re doing things that blow my mind. Why would you even tell people something so private about me? You’re playing with my precious time. What makes my head spin is that I know you’re way too smart for this. So what is it? Ama, you can’t be that naïve.
You know what? I’m no longer interested in being in this relationship. Take my hoodie off. I’m calling you a taxi.”
He was done talking.
With her eyes low, her posture mimicking an embarrassed puppy, she took his hoodie off. She had only her bra on as she turned away from him.
He got a glimpse of her breasts, and then he forgot everything he had just said.
“Her breasts were as fine as Solomon described in the Bible.” Those were his exact words, verbatim.
Can you believe this guy? I was smiling when he told me this story.
